Four Lakes Sangha

Four Lakes Sangha is a community of mindfulness practitioners in the tradition of Plum Village and part of SnowFlower Sangha in Madison, WI. We follow the teachings of Vietnamese Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh (1926-2022). In this tradition, we practice cultivating a kind of mindfulness that can bring peace and joy right now, in the present moment. Our mindfulness practice is firmly grounded in ethical conduct and the understanding that there is a deep interconnection between all people, all species, and all things.

Calligraphy of Thich Nhat Hanh - "Breathe and Smile" are written in an empty circle - an enzo.

At Four Lakes Sangha, our aspiration is to create a welcoming, safe space for all to gather and practice mindfulness. We welcome people of all backgrounds, ages, faiths, sexualities, identities, races, ethnicities, social-economical statuses and world and political views. We hope that our community will be a refuge as well as source of nourishment for you, your practice, your family and all that you touch. Please join us as you are.

Gatherings are Sundays from 10-11:30am

Mindfulness is always mindfulness of something. In our tradition, mindfulness practice begins with mindfulness of our breath and our steps. It is very simple, but very deep. Please explore the various resources on our website and reach out to us with any questions!
